It's the last week of February.
It's last week of the regular season for basketball.
It's last week of the regular season for basketball.
Two Senior Nights this week and then the District Tournament starts on Saturday.
First though, looking back to last week; the Eagles split, losing to Advance and defeating Chaffee.
On Tuesday the 15th at home a short-handed OE fell to the Hornets 84-72. Oran played without Tyler Heuring while Nathan Michelsen only saw limited action due to illness. The Eagles were led by Jon Morrow's 20 points. Also in double figures were Reece Mangels with 15 points and Preston Scherer and Kody Moore with 11 each.
The Eagles got back to their winning ways on Friday the 18th with a 64-52 over the host Red Devils. Just when will thought the flu bug had made it's way out of the Eagle locker room and a complete roster would be available for Coach Joe "the boot" Shoemaker, the injury bug took it's place. Reece Mangels missed the game due to a finger injury. Morrow once again led Oran in scoring, this time with 26. Freshman Seth Ressel added 11 and Michelsen chipped in 10. With the victory the Eagles raised their record to 15-8.
Coming up next
This week the Eagles will face Woodland on Tuesday. Just a reminder, that evening the PTO will be hosting a chili supper. Also, it will be Senior Night for our winter athletes and pep band. And just when you thought it couldn't get any bigger, it's also Lil Cheer Night. You'd better get here early.
On Thursday, in the season finale, we will travel to Kelly for their Senior Night. Hopefully this year it will not take an hour and a half for the Hawks to get through this ceremony.
Also, hopefully the Eagles will take both games this week to have a three game winning streak headed into the district tournament and a 17-8 record.
